Navigating the website
The blue navigation bar at the top of each page provides access to information by section. Clicking on a section name returns detailed information for that topic. For example, clicking on Volume will return the section that contains avocado volume figures.
The Home page-the initial page you see when you enter the website-presents three tabs in the middle of the page for quick access to snapshots of the most current Volume, Price, and Retail data.
Quick Links on the left side of each page provide direct access to information available on the page in lieu of scrolling, or to other related information within the website.
If a pop-up box appears during your website experience and you wish to close it, simply click anywhere outside the box.
Bookmarks
The purpose of a bookmark is to save frequently visited pages of the site so that when you return to the website you'll have your favorite links at your fingertips. To create your bookmark list click on the Save to Favorites tab on any page that you would like saved in your bookmark area. The bookmarks are saved for later recall on your computer. Working with Graph Snapshots on the Home Page
Graphs presented on the home page are snapshots of the most current data available to provide a quick view. For more extensive graph selections click on the Go to Interactive Graph button. Click on the Print button to print the graph.
Working with Interactive Graphs
The drop-down menu at the top of each interactive graph provides the ability to quickly view the graph with an alternate dataset. Click on the down arrow and select a different set of data to fill the graph.
The three tabs at the top of the Retail graphs-Calendar Year, Last 52 Weeks, Last 36 Months-allows you to quickly modify the time period for the data set being viewed.
The three tabs at the bottom of the graphs-Raw Data, Save As PDF, Edit- provide further functionality. Click on the Raw Data tab to view the source numbers of a graph you are viewing. The Raw Data view can be Exported to Excel or Saved as CSV by selecting those tabs. To return to the graph view click on the Graph tab. To save the graph in a printable file format click Save As PDF. Selecting any of the Save or Export options will prompt you to Save or Open the file. If Open is selected, the file will open but it will not be saved to your computer. If Save is selected, the file will be saved to the location specified and the file must be opened from that location in order to view it.
The Edit tab allows you to customize the appearance of your graph by choosing options from a set of drop-down menus and check boxes. To view the options in the drop-down menu click on the down arrow and choose from the options presented. To include/exclude data from the graph click on/off each check box. When finished, you MUST click on the Save button for your selections to display your customized graph correctly. Any edits you make to the graph will only be saved for this session unless you bookmark your graph with your selections saved.
Working with Tables
To sort the contents of any column in a table click on the column name. Use the scroll bar on the right side of the table to view information that is below the visible area. To use the scroll bar click on the bar and drag it up or down, or you may use your mouse wheel to scroll through the table data.
The drop-down menu at the top of the Volume and Price tables provides the ability to quickly view the table with an alternate dataset. Click on the down arrow and select a different set of data to fill the table.
Tabs below the tables provide you with the options of saving the data that is currently displayed in the table in three different formats; Excel, CSV, PDF. Save As Excel will allow you to save the data in a file for later use with Excel. Save as CSV allows you to download a file with data that is separated by commas or periods. Save as PDF will allow you to save a printable file to your computer. Selecting one of these options will prompt you to Save or Open the file. If Open is selected, the file will open in Excel, but it will not be saved to your computer. If Save is selected, the file will be saved to the location specified and the file must be opened from that location in order to view it.
Changing Units of Measure
Arrival volume units of measure can be changed by clicking the top three buttons to view in Pounds, Kilos, or Lugs. Retail volume is measured by each avocado sold. Bagged volume is converted to the number of avocados contained in each bag (four). There is only one unit of measure for the retail data.
